Rhino is ready!

After giving it a lot of thought, I have painted the Rhino's body with encaustic. The white just seemed too clean for a rhinoceros!

Since encaustic paint is applied hot I had to be very careful not to crack my piece. The nice surprise was to see how the heat reacted with the clay underneath the white slip, and I got all those brownish spots; just perfect!
